NOTICE: Temporary Closure of Canopy Walkway, Taman Negara Pahang

Dear valued customers,

We wish to inform all guests, agents, and partners that the Canopy Walkway activity at Taman Negara Pahang (Kuala Tahan) is temporarily closed until further notice. This decision was made following an official directive from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) dated 20 September 2024.

Reason for Closure

A recent safety inspection revealed serious structural damage caused by a fallen tree that affected key components of the Canopy Walk. As a safety measure, the activity is suspended to prevent any risk to public safety.

Other Activities Continue as Usual

All other attractions and activities in Taman Negara remain fully operational, including:

    • Scenic boat rides and splash-filled rapids along Tembeling River

    • Leisure time and river bathing at Lata Berkoh and Lubuk Simpon
      Relax at serene river spots perfect for swimming or picnicking. Surrounded by thick greenery and flowing waters, these areas are ideal for quiet moments or refreshing dips in cool, clear streams.
    • Night exploration walks with trained forest interpreters
      Experience the forest after dark, guided by rangers who reveal the hidden world of nocturnal animals, insects, and jungle sounds. It’s a calm yet thrilling adventure under the forest canopy.
    • Cultural immersion with the indigenous Batek community
      Visit local settlements to learn directly from Malaysia’s native Batek people. Discover their skills in blowpipe hunting, fire-making, and sustainable living passed down for generations.

Despite the temporary closure of the Canopy Walk, Taman Negara continues to be one of Malaysia’s most rewarding destinations. The rainforest is alive with sights, sounds, and unique moments that create lasting memories for every traveller.

The Canopy Walk will only reopen after all safety restoration works have been completed and certified. Updates will be shared as soon as available.
