checklist

Your adventure starts at 8.00 am with a comfortable pickup from your hotel in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. You’ll travel south towards Port Dickson, or “PD” as it’s fondly called, located in Negeri Sembilan about 90 km from Kuala Lumpur and 30 km from Seremban. Easily accessible via major highways from both KL and Singapore, PD boasts a 10-mile stretch of sandy beaches and calm waters extending towards Malacca — making it one of Malaysia’s most beloved seaside getaways.

At 10.00 am, you’ll arrive in Port Dickson. Your first visit at 10.15 am is to the Army Museum Port Dickson (Muzium Tentera Darat), situated near a military base at 5th Mile in the Sirusa area, approximately 7 km from the town center. Managed by the Malaysian Royal Armed Forces, the museum showcases the nation’s wartime history through war documents, military technology, and compelling exhibits. The expansive grounds feature decommissioned tanks, artillery guns, and aircraft, along with a memorial fountain honouring those who served. Entrance is free for all visitors from dawn to dusk.

After the museum visit, the day is yours to enjoy at leisure (own cost). PD offers a variety of recreational activities:

  • Banana Boat rides for fun on the waves

  • Jet Skiing for an adrenaline rush

  • Wind Surfing for water sport lovers

  • Swimming in the warm, calm sea

  • Walking up to the Tanjung Tuan Lighthouse, built by the Dutch in 1817 and one of Malaysia’s oldest lighthouses

The Tanjung Tuan Lighthouse offers panoramic views across the Strait of Malacca to the sea border of Sumatra. It is surrounded by rich flora and fauna, and serves as a sanctuary for 54 species of birds, hosting up to 300,000 migratory birds each year. The surrounding forest reserve also provides hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities.

If time permits, you may explore more attractions such as the ostrich farm, lunar observatory, ornamental fish center, waterfront promenade, 3D art galleries, and other local highlights. Don’t miss the chance to taste PD’s famous fresh seafood dishes before you leave.

At 4.00 pm, you’ll depart from Port Dickson and head back to Kuala Lumpur. By 6.00 pm, you’ll arrive at your hotel in the City Centre, carrying with you a day full of coastal beauty, history, and memorable experiences.
